ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – This holiday season, an Escanaba healthcare organization is shining a light for those lost in 2023.
The OSF Auxiliary’s Lights of Love display has been lighting up the entry to the hospital all December long. Through the end of the month, anyone can purchase a light for $5 in memory of a friend, family member, or pet who passed away this year.
Joanna Wilbee-Amis, public relations representative for OSF, says the Lights of Love campaign is a beautiful way to honor that individual or animal and to carry their memory into the new year.
“I think it’s a really nice tradition,” Wilbee-Amis said. “It lets our entire community enjoy beautifully lit trees throughout the holiday season, and then it has that special recognition for a loved one or a loved pet. As people drive by, they know that they’ve made a contribution in memory of a loved one.”
The money raised will fund various initiatives at the hospital. The Lights of Love will remain lit through December 31, but lights can be purchased for the 2024 display all year at OSF.
