NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – UPDATE: The Negaunee City Police Department has released more information on the car crash that closed down US-41 in Negaunee early Wednesday morning.
According to the press release, an eastbound vehicle driven by Jesse Ramsey of Ishpeming, lost control in the slushy road conditions and veered into the westbound lane, striking a truck head on. The truck was driven by William Hill of Negaunee.
Ramsey’s vehicle careened after the first collision, and struck another vehicle driven by Justin Morrison of Negaunee.
Ramsey received multiple injuries due to the crash, and was transported to UPHS-Marquette by ambulance for medical treatment. Hill received minor injuries, and sought his own medical care.
Ramsey was found at fault for the accident and will be cited.
All of the vehicles involved were disable, and towed away by Antilla’s Towing of Ishpeming.
The Negaunee Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Michigan State Police, Ishpeming City Police, Negaunee Fire Department, Bell EMS, and Marquette County Rescue units.
UPDATE: The road has been cleared. WZMQ is still trying to get more information on the crash and will update the story as those details become available.
A car crash has closed a section of US-41 between Negaunee and Ishpeming, on the hill near Teal Lake.
Crews are still on the scene working, and multiple ambulances have been on the scene.
