IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WZMQ) – In Dickinson County, a dental office’s generosity is taking center stage this holiday season. Karen Louis, the Director of First Impressions, shares the heartwarming initiative.

“Actually, this is a fundraiser for the Caringhouse, which is a house for domestic violence. We have the Lady Longriders in our area who put this all together. There are just a few ladies that did all of this work, and how it works as if you donate to the Caringhouse in this basket, you get to put your name in for a chance to win this beautiful prize that they put together,” stated Louis, as she motioned to the donation can and prize basket located in the center’s main waiting area.

The John Fornetti Dental Center is doubling the impact of charitable gestures from its patients. Meanwhile, the waiting room buzzes with excitement as a raffle, featuring a gift basket crafted by the Lady Longriders, aims to spur the spirit of giving.

“Dr. John has decided that whatever is donated to the Caringhouse, he is going to match that,” informed Louis.

Explaining the broader impact, Louis notes, “With these wonderful donations, they do a Christmas for all the children in the shelter, and then they have other things that they can donate to these children, to the mothers, and the fathers.”

As the fundraiser for the Caringhouse unfolds, Louis elaborates, “It’s a great, great thing to donate to.”

Dr. John Fornetti himself, the driving force behind this compassionate effort, commits to matching every donation made to the Caringhouse by his patients. Louis concludes, emphasizing the significance, “It’s a great, great thing to donate to.” Donations are being matched until December 7th, ensuring a brighter holiday season for those in need.

The gift basket prize winner will be drawn on December 8th. Those interested in donating can put cash in the collection can located in the waiting area at the Dr. John Fornetti Dental Center, or put in a check made payable to “Caringhouse, Inc.”
