RAPID RIVER, Mich. (WZMQ) – With deer season underway, a Delta County business is inviting hunters to show off what they’ve caught.

Rapid River Knifeworks is hosting its third annual Big Buck Extravaganza on Saturday, November 18.

“Everyone is welcome to show up,” said Rapid River Knifeworks General Manager Matt Seawright. “We’re going to give away tons of prizes. We’ve got six guns, we’ve got crossbows, hats, mugs, knives, pretty much everything sporting-related you can think of.”

Hunters can bring in their bucks for free scoring. Guns will be awarded for the largest buck in men’s, women’s, and youth categories.

In addition to receiving recognition for their bucks, Seawright says the Big Buck Extravaganza always brings hunters together to have some fun.

“We’re in the outdoor industry and we love to give back to the people in the outdoor industries, our customers,” he said. “This is something fun that we want to do every year, just as a ‘thank you’ to all our customers.”

All attendees will receive a raffle ticket, and anyone with a buck will receive an extra ticket. The event begins at 5:00 p.m. and ends at 10:00 p.m., with the raffle drawing at 9:00 p.m.

The Big Buck Extravaganza is sponsored by Radio Results Network, Rapid River Pub, Jay’s Sporting Goods, United Rentals, and Compass Financial Associates. Click here for more information.

Polling locations in Marquette officially closed at 8 pm, but if you were in line by then, you could still vote. "The polls, even though they closed at eight, we allowed those folks that were in line to vote. So it did finally finish up at about 20 after eight or so," said Talsma.
