MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A popular family-owned restaurant in Marquette is assessing the damage after a fire Thursday evening.
Marquette City Firefighters were called to Jeffrey’s Restaurant, located at 300 S McClellan Ave. near the US-41 intersection, around 6:30 p.m. Crews found the building filled with smoke and a fire in the kitchen area.
The fire was knocked down, and fire crews left the scene around 8 p.m. No injuries were reported.
A Marquette City Fire Department investigator is on the scene to search for a cause of the fire. A damage estimate to the building is unknown at this time.
The Marquette City Fire Department was assisted by the Marquette Township Fire Department, Chocolay Township Fire Department, Marquette Police Department, UPHS Marquette 141, Marquette Board of Light and Power, and Semco Gas Company.
