IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WZMQ) – In a notable event at Iron Mountain School District, high school students re-entered their classrooms with enthusiasm. After the summer break, the school resource officer, Sergeant Adam Ray, expressed satisfaction as he observed students exhibiting high spirits and encountering minimal difficulties in locating their designated classrooms. The halls were alive with excitement as many students eagerly reconnected with friends, overjoyed to resume social interactions.
Sergeant Ray reported, “Kids seemed to navigate the halls, get to their classes, it went well. By the end of this week, the kids should know which bus they have to get on. Today’s a little rough for getting kids on buses. They did add another bus this year, so it’s a little more confusion for the kids.”
Drew Ramme, a sophomore at Iron Mountain High School, shared his own perspective on the first day back, stating, “It was good. Good teachers, good quality, everybody’s getting along. School for me is awesome. I like study skills. I missed Iron Mountain Public Schools.”
Despite some initial confusion related to bus schedules, Sergeant Ray reassured that the students maintained exemplary behavior throughout the day. As the school week progresses, the hope is that the routine of bussing will become second nature for the students, allowing them to focus more on their studies and interactions with peers.
