ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – An Escanaba shop has officially relocated to the downtown.
Jen’s Gems by Peach moved from its former warehouse to a new facility at 1628 Ludington Street. The store hosted its soft grand opening on Monday, August 14.
Owner James Ayotte is excited to breathe new life into the building with a variety of home goods and decor, jewelry, toys, and gifts. Ayotte also hopes to provide customers with an alternative to the major retail chains.
“Everybody’s on a budget these days to save money, and being able to offer great products at affordable prices is definitely something that’s meaningful to my heart,” said Ayotte. “The location is awesome. We’re happy to be here as a great asset to Downtown Escanaba.”
Ayotte originally launched Gen’s Jems as a virtual shopping show on Facebook. He will continue to host weekly Facebook live sales.
Over the next two years, Ayotte plans to move the online shopping show to a different location. He also plans to expand the shop to include a bin store.
Jen’s Gems by Peach will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday, August 21. Until then, hours will be limited due to the U.P. State Fair. Click here for a full list of fair week hours.
