ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Friday, July 28, another new business is opening its doors in Downtown Escanaba.
Gempathix, LLC will offer a variety of rocks, gemstones, beads, artwork, and metaphysical items. Customers can also stop in for crystal readings.
Owners Sonja Jensen and Katrina Davis have spent twelve years traveling to rock and gem shows to sell their products. During the pandemic, they saw a need for a permanent store in Delta County.
Jensen says Gempathix is a place for collectors and crafters to find items that are often not available in the area.
“We have unakite beads, we have ametrine beads, we have pearls,” she said. “A lot of things that you can’t just go to Hobby Lobby and pick up. A lot of people want to collect things, and what better than spheres and rocks and gemstones and jewelry?”
Jensen and Davis also plan to host workshops in the near future.
Following its opening day on Friday, Gempathix will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The shop is located at 920 Ludington Street.
