HOUGHTON, Mich. (WZMQ) – The 300 foot Ocean Navigator cruise ship made the trip from Marquette to Houghton Wednesday night.
The stop is the first of two the ship will make in the Keweenaw waterway this summer. The ship docked at 8 this morning and throughout the day passengers were able to explore the city of Houghton.
The city of Houghton worked hard to make sure passengers could see everything the city has to offer.
“They are able to explore experiences like the A.E Seaman mineral museum which is the mineral museum for the state of michigan, they have the opportunity to tour the Quincy Mine, walk around historic downtown Houghton and see the historic and the Jacobsville Sandstone buildings,” remarked Brad Barnett the Ceo of Visit Keweenaw.
The ship will return to Houghton on June 12th.
