MARQUETTE, Mich (WZMQ)- The Marquette City Police Department has an opening for a police officer position.
The department posted on Facebook asking for applicants for a patrol officer opening.
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled and those applying need to meet these qualifications:
-Applicants must be MCOLES certified (Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards) or certifiable and licensed to operate a vehicle in the state of Michigan
-Must be available to work evening and weekend hours
-Graduation from an accredited high school
-Thorough knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations of law enforcement
-Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with public officials, coworkers, and the public
-A license to operate a vehicle in the State of Michigan is required
