MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The United Way of Marquette County raised $100,000 from its Detroit Red Wings Alumni hockey game.
UWMC said 3,500 people attended the game that featured former Red Wings players and local hockey players representing the Yoopers United team. One hundred players took part, as well as 75 volunteers to make the event happen.
The UWMC wrote in a Facebook post, “Words aren’t enough to express how grateful we are to everyone involved.”
The UWMC supports 28 local non-profits that will benefit from the fundraiser. The UWMC’s mission is to bring people, organizations, and resources together to improve community well-being.
