Houghton’s parking has been quite an issue over the past years and for a while there were plans to move forward with reconstructing the waterfront. As of January 2021 there was a decision to deconstruct the current deck which will be funded by the city. The updates and redevelopment funds matched the goals for a grant program that will be provided by the state.
