WZMQ 19 News was honored with awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters in multiple categories.
Weather forecaster Ariane Stassek took home two trophies. She was honored for best weathercast. She also won the best special programming award for the station’s Winter Weather Ready special.
Escanaba and Delta County reporter Lily Simmons took home a news reporter merit award.
Anchor/executive producer Sarah Blakely won a merit award for breaking news, and operations manager Kenn Baynard received a merit award for marketing materials/promos.
WZMQ 19 was also a finalist for the Station of the Year award.
The awards were presented by the organization this past weekend at an awards ceremony in Detroit.
