LITTLE LAKE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) begins work on two road resurfacing projects in Marquette County.
MDOT first begins a $1 million resurfacing project on M-35 in Marquette County on Friday, September 9.
The project will resurface 4.6 miles of M-35 south of Little Lake, including milling and resurfacing, aggregate shoulders, centerline and shoulder rumble strips, and pavement markings.
Drivers should expect lane closures with traffic regulators.
MDOT expects the project to extend the lifespan of the road and increase safety. The project will also support 13 jobs.
That project is expected to wrap up in late September.
Starting Monday, September 12, MDOT begins a resurfacing project on US-41 in the Green Garden/Skandia area.
The $1.2 million project will resurface three miles of US-41 from Kunde Rd. to Big Creek Rd. The work includes milling and resurfacing, concrete curb and gutter, aggregate shoulders, centerline and shoulder rumble strips, guardrail, and pavement markings.
Drivers can expect lane closures with traffic regulators.
MDOT expects the project to extend the lifespan of the road and increase safety. The project will also support 15 jobs.
That project is expected to be complete by Friday, October 14.
