Wildcats travel to Minnesota next Thursday
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Northern Michigan volleyball team played its final game at the SpringHill Suites Invitational on Saturday, falling to host West Florida in straight sets 9-26, 16-25, and 17-25.
The Argos hit .312 to NMU’s -.035. Northern was led by Emilia Gulock and Madison York with four kills each. Gulock also recorded 2.5 blocks of NMU’s six total. West Florida was led by Kaylin Johnson with 10 kills.
The Argos used a 13-0 run in the first to cruise to a 25-9 set victory. Gulock and Bakke teamed up twice in the set for blocks.
In the second, the Argos jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but the ‘Cats clawed back with a 3-0 run to close the gap to 9-7. They’d trim the deficit down to two a few more times in the set, but the Argos struck with the final six to win 25-16.
West Florida again jumped ahead in the final set and stayed strong down the stretch to take the final set, 25-17.

The Wildcats will have four more matches next weekend, traveling to Minnesota to participate in the Huskies Volleyball Classic hosted by St. Cloud State, with the first action on Thursday, September 11, at 4 p.m. ET.
