Averaged 17.5 points in two Wildcat wins last weekend
MARQUETTE, Mich. – For the second time this season, Northern Michigan junior Jacy Weisbrod has been named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday.
Weisbrod helped guide the Wildcats to a pair of road key wins, first scoring 23 points on 8-13 (61.5%) shooting with four triples and six rebounds in a 69-59 victory at Saginaw Valley. She followed that up with 12 points on 5-11 (45.5%), adding two rebounds and three assists in a 66-61 triumph of Wayne State. The La Crosse, Wisconsin native is seventh in the conference averaging 13.7 points per game. She has been the most prolific threat from beyond the arc of all GLIAC players, pacing the league and sitting at 11th in the nation by knocking down 2.78 threes per game at a clip of 37.3%.
Weisbrod and the Wildcats are back home this week, hosting Lake Superior State on Thursday, February 13 before welcoming Ferris State on Saturday, February 15 for Senior Day and Play4Kay.
