Huskies on five-game winning streak
HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech men’s basketball first-year forward Grant Warren has been named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for Week Six, the league office announced on Monday. This is the first honor of Warren’s career and the first Defensive Player of the Week honoree for the Huskies.
Warren, a native of Wausau, Wisconsin, was one of six players to score in double-figures in the 106-43 win versus Northland to extend the Huskies’ win streak to five games at the SDC Gymnasium on Saturday. Warren came off the bench for Michigan Tech and produced 11 points (5-for-7) while leading the Black & Gold with nine rebounds, seven on the defensive end, to go with two steals and a block in 18 minutes of action.
The Huskies wrapped non-conference play on Saturday and hold an overall record of 7-3 while going 2-0 in the loop. Michigan Tech completes play in 2024 with an exhibition contest against Green Bay in the Resch Center at noon on Wednesday.
