Leading scorer in big win over Upper Iowa
MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan men’s basketball forward Dylan Kuehl has been named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week following a 19-point, 7-rebound performance in a 79-76 victory over No. 25 Upper Iowa in Wisconsin Dells.
Kuehl paced the Wildcat offense with 19 points on 8-11 (72.7%) shooting and hit several key shots down the stretch to help NMU pull out the win. Kuehl has been on quite the run offensively for the ‘Cats, as it marked the the seventh straight game he’s scored at least 12 points, made five or more field goals, and shot at least 50.0% from the floor. Kuehl has scored in double figures in all but one game this season. He now ranks eighth in the conference in scoring (15.4), seventh in rebounds per game (6.6) and third in field goal percentage (53.0%).
The Hustisford, Wisconsin native surpassed 1,000 career points earlier this season, becoming the 35th player in program history to reach the milestone.
Kuehl and the Wildcats will host Northland College on Saturday, December 21 at 2 p.m.
