Youngs Menswear celebrates grand opening of new Escanaba storefront

ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Friday afternoon, a longstanding Escanaba business welcomed the community to its new storefront.

Youngs Menswear held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of its new location at 1016 Ludington Street, the former Mr. Bike and Ski building. It’s only a block away from the old Youngs Menswear location, but the larger space provides more room for the business’ inventory.

“We grew out of our other location, so it’s been a long time coming,” said owner and manager Tyler Myrick. “What a lot of people don’t know is we own all our own inventory. We have thousands of suits and ties and shirts that we keep here, so we just needed more space.”

Youngs Menswear offers both rentals and purchases of business professional clothing and formalwear. Ribbon cutting attendees enjoyed grand opening specials, toured the new facility, and celebrated a new chapter for the locally-owned business.

“We’ve been a staple in Escanaba for 35 years,” Myrick said. “Ron and Jena [Young] ran the business for that long, and I took over a couple years ago. It’s been community support the whole time. The support from our customers that come in and see us every day, it really means a lot. We got to be able to open up right in time for prom season and weddings to continue through the spring and summer, and we can’t wait to see people in here and get them looking their best.”

Youngs Menswear is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
