HOUGHTON, KEWEENAW COUNTIES, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Houghton Keweenaw Conservation District spring tree sale is now live.
The annual sale returns with selections of conifer trees, broadleaf trees, fruit trees, shrubs and other plants to help benefit local environments. Orders can be made online, phone or by mail, and will go towards funding the conservation district’s community events and future operations.
“What we’re trying to do here is provide trees that landowners can use to improve their forests at a cost-effective rate, while at the same time any funding that’s raised from this will help provide more resources and serve the public,” said HKCD District Forester, Joash Pfeiffelman.
Trees will be available for pickup from 9:00 a.m. until noon on May 16 at The Drill Shop (home of the Copper Country Curling Club) behind the Calumet High
School.
Mail-in orders are due by April 17 and online orders by May 4. Order information can be found on hkconserve.com, or questions can be directed to (906) 319-0060.
