Three assists in the sweep of Bowling Green in the first round of playoffs
HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech’s Tyler Miller has been named the CCHA Defenseman of the Week the conference announced on Monday.
Tyler Miller led conference blueliners with three points last week, dishing out three assists in Michigan Tech’s Mason Cup Quarterfinal series victory over Bowling Green. Leading league defensemen in plus-minus (+4), he recorded one shot and one block, while averaging 18:45 minutes per game. On Friday, he had three helpers in a 5-3 Huskies victory. He then posted a +2 rating in a 3-2 series-clinching 3-2 win on Saturday. Miller has skated in all 38 games this season for the Huskies and has three goals and 10 assists.
Tech is ranked No. 19 in this week’s USCHO and USA Hockey polls and travels to No. 16 Minnesota State for the CCHA Mason Cup Semifinal. The two teams will meet on Saturday at 8:07 p.m. Eastern at Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center. Augustana travels to St. Thomas for the other semifinal at 5:07 p.m. Eastern.
