MANISTIQUE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Spring is just around the corner, and with the new season comes the Schoolcraft Conservation District’s annual Tree Sale.
The sale is live now through April 17. Pickup is scheduled for April 24 and 25 at the Schoolcraft County Fair barn.
This year’s catalogue includes a variety of fruit trees and shrubs, conifers, seed mixes, and planting supplies. The Conservation District has provided information online explaining which plants are best suited for the U.P.’s climate, as well as how certain trees and shrubs can serve specific purposes.
“We try to focus on agricultural species, so things like orchard species, berries, and things that can help the home producer grow their own food,” said District Manager Ashley Reitter. “Native trees and shrubs help with reforestation efforts or wildlife plantings.”
