MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – After roughly 40 hours of competition, 13 of 17 sled dog teams finished on Sunday morning at the Marquette Ojibwa Casino.
First Place went to Ryan Anderson of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Wearing bib #13, Anderson arrived at the finish line at 9:41 am., holding a total trail time of 22 hours, 9 minutes and 35 seconds, with 11 dogs on the ground.
Second Place went to Erin Aili of Ray, Minnesota. Wearing bib #2, Aili held a trail time of 22:15:31 with nine dogs on the ground, and one in the basket by the end, finishing at 9:47 a.m.
Third Place went to Bib #10, Matthew Schmidt of Grand Marais, Minnesota. Schmidt crossed the finish line at 10:22 a.m. and totaled 22:50:01 on the trail, with 11 dogs on the ground.
