MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – During the upcoming UP200 weekend, the opportunity is still available to purchase a round-trip to the halfway point.
On Saturday, February 14, fans can take the Mush Bus from Marquette to Grand Marais to cheer on the sled dog teams. Tickets are $40, with about 20 left as of February 4.
The Checker Bus will depart the Marquette Holiday Inn around 11:00 a.m. and return by around 6:00 p.m. Arrangements for pick-ups through Munising can also be made.
This will give ample time to explore the Grand Marais community, visit with mushers, and take in plenty of the U.P.’s history, as the trip is guided by Marquette Regional History Center volunteer, Leijhe Koval.
“We get to know one another,” she said. “And of course coming back the mood is different, after we’ve gotten to experience those sleds coming in, all of the bells and whistles and the dogs, getting to talk to all of the volunteers involved.”
Tickets can be found here. These prices were made possible by Mush Bus sponsor, Big Lake Real Estate.
