ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – A man could face life in prison for charges stemming from a fatal stabbing last summer.
On August 13, Kaw Tung was arrested for the murder of Stephen Tang, who was found with stab wounds to his chest and abdomen. According to a police report, the two had a verbal argument about money the day before. While Tang was sleeping the following morning, Tung entered his room and stabbed him with a kitchen knife.
On Wednesday, Tung pled no contest to one count of second-degree murder. In exchange for the plea agreement, the prosecution dismissed a charge of open murder against him. Tung faces years or life in prison.
Tung is scheduled to appear in court for sentencing in May.
