ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Escanaba Public Safety Department is investigating the cause of a Wednesday morning structure fire.
At approximately 6:57 a.m., Public Safety personnel were dispatched to a garage fire on 18th Lane. Law enforcement arrived on scene first to find the 40×60 structure fully involved. A second garage was next to it, as well as two large propane tanks.
Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control and eventually fully extinguished it. Public Safety was on the scene for about three and a half hours. The structure is a total loss.
Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by the Escanaba Township Fire Department, Rampart, the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, Delta County Central Dispatch, and UPPCO.
