MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – United Way of Marquette County is making sure families and individuals are ready for tax season. Appointments are now available through its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, or VITA program.
This program offers free tax preparation for qualifying individuals and families with the help of trained IRS volunteer staff.
“It’s a critical program for the communities,” said United Way of Marquette County Executive Director, Andrew Rickauer. “It’s appointment only, the sooner you make the appointment, the better.”
Those eligible can find services in Marquette at the Peter White Public Library, in K.I. Sawyer at the 906 Community Church, and in Munising at the high school public library.
To schedule an appointment in Marquette or K.I. Sawyer, call 906-360-2205. For Munising, call 906-387-2125. Space is limited, and each appointment will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis.
