MARQUETTE, Mich. – Its a new year which means its time for New Year’s resolutions. One of the most popular resolutions is kickstarting the year with new healthy habits such as going to the gym.
Anytime Fitness, one of the many gyms in the City of Marquette is already seeing an increase in memberships as 2026 enters its first full week. The 24-hour fitness center is just one of many in the area where residents can ring in the new year by getting a good workout in. Other fitness centers in the city where residents can go for a workout include the Marquette Health Club, the YMCA of Marquette County, and the Physical Education Instructional Facility at NMU (PEIF).
Anytime Fitness manager Tim Martin says that getting in the gym takes a little bit of self motivation, and getting a coach might be the right way to go if you need that extra help. “If you can tell yourself to go in and do something for 15 minutes, I guarantee you that you’re going to end up being here longer,” said Martin. “If not, that’s still 15 minutes more than you would’ve done (if you hadn’t come to the gym).”
In addition to coaching services, the gym also offers instructor led fitness classes for those that may need guidance in their new health journeys.
