CLARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Lower Michigan man is dead following a snowmobile crash in Mackinac County over the weekend.
At approximately 12:58 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) St. Ignace Post responded to a report of a snowmobile crash on Bay City Lake Road near Trail 47 in Clark Township. The preliminary investigation found that the snowmobile was traveling on Trail 47 when the driver hit a bump in the trail and was ejected.
The driver was identified as a 61-year-old man from Saline. Emergency medical aid was administered, but the driver passed away due to the injuries sustained in the crash. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to have contributed to the crash.
