“We got hot tonight and it was fun to watch,” said Tech head coach Josh Buettner. “But I was really happy with our assist compared to turnovers and how we limited their 2nd chance opportunities. It was a good trip for us heading into break.”
The Huskies shot lights out and had their best shooting half of the season in the final contest of 2025 as Marcus Tomashek began with three treys to jump out to a 12-2 advantage through the opening 2:30 to get ahead 12-2 with a slam by Gabe Smith and a free-throw in the mix.

The Huskies’ hot shooting would not let up, and by the 8:56 mark, both Tomashek and Fernholz had recorded their sixth 3-point make in seven attempts, making it 48-16.
51-18 would be the score by the 7:11 media timeout, with Fernholz knocking down his seventh triple of the night to add to the lopsided affair. The Huskies’ remarkable shooting subsided down the stretch of the first half as the Fighting Knights were able to muster more offense before heading into halftime trailing the Black & Gold 64-36 off a jumper by Tomashek.
