MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ)
The city of Marquette has opened its outdoor ice rinks to the public, providing residents with additional recreational opportunities during the winter season.
The rinks are located at the North Marquette ball field area on Presque Isle Avenue, at the field near Spring and Seventh Street, and at a new location inside Tourist Park.
City officials say the ice conditions will be regularly monitored and resurfaced as needed to help maintain safe skating conditions throughout the season.
Hockey nets are also available at the rinks, allowing skaters to use the space for both casual skating and pick-up hockey. The rinks are open daily until 11:00 P.M., with porta-john facilities available at each location, and will remain open as long as weather conditions allow.
