Kuhar’s class covers multiple positions

HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech soccer head coach Melissa Kuhar has announced the signing of six student-athletes to the 2026 signing class.

“I am super excited at how this class came together. It is a very well-rounded group that brings a huge amount of talent and depth to all areas within our program,” said Coach Kuhar. “Not only are they outstanding student-athletes, but they are also great people who come from amazing families! I can’t wait to get them on campus and see the impact they will have on our program on and off the field!”

Polly Ambro | Goalkeeper | Golden, Colorado | Lakewood HS | Civil Engineering

Polly is a four-year varsity player for Lakewood High School and was named an All-State honorable mention selection as the team placed third in Jefferson County and second in 5A. She was also a captain for two years in club soccer. Her shot-stopping ability, size, and ability to cover the goal are things we can’t wait to witness every day! I can’t wait to see how she mixes in with the other goalkeepers! They are going to be a fun group to coach!”

Why Michigan Tech: “I chose Michigan Tech for both their engineering program and location. I became obsessed with the small-town feel and college community. I saw it being a perfect fit for me academically and athletically.”

Brooke Armstrong | Defender | Lake Orion, Michigan | Lake Orion HS | Nationals ECNL-RL | Biochemistry

Brooke is an OAA All-League and All-District Team selection for the Lake Orion High School team, who also were OAA White Champions. Brooke also played basketball and is a member of the leadership club.

Coach Kuhar on Armstrong: “We are super excited to have Brooke join us next year! I truly believe she will have a huge impact on us on the defensive side of the ball. Brooke possesses the soccer IQ, size, and willingness to compete that will help our program continue to grow!”

Why Michigan Tech: “I chose Michigan Tech because of the amazing team culture and coaching staff, the great academics, and the beautiful campus.”

Natalie Miller | Goalkeeper | Beavercreek, Ohio | Beavercreek HS | Ohio Galaxies FC and Cincinnati United Premier GA | Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering

She has a great shot stopping ability and is fearless coming off her line. It is going to be fun seeing her mix in with the other goalkeepers and compete!”

She understands the game and isn’t afraid to create things in the attacking part of the field. Her technical ability, paired with her fierce and driven attitude while playing, is something I think will be contagious! Can’t wait to get her here in the fall!”

Why Michigan Tech: “Michigan Tech did everything it needed to convince me when I first arrived on campus. For one, the amazing academic programs and opportunities with their hands-on learning style were an attention grabber for me from the start, but seeing the chemistry and culture of the players and staff is what really drove home my decision to choose Tech. The opportunity to come into a team with such a bond and sense of perseverance and grit is something I could not pass up.”

Why Michigan Tech: “I chose Michigan Tech because it has a great major that I want to study. As well as the team itself having a bright future, I want to be in that future. My grandpa also grew up in Michigan and told me about the school and he only had good things to say.”
