MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Santa hats, wagging tails, and a lot of curious noses filled the Animal Medical Center in downtown Marquette on Friday. Staff members traded their scrubs for Santa and elf costumes, welcoming four-legged visitors for a festive photo opportunity.
Clinic staff, such as Associate Veterinarian Grace Piper, say the idea came from a simple desire to do something different during the holiday season.
“We were having a staff Christmas party and thought, ‘how fun would it be to have the pets get photos too,'” she said. “It definitely brings people and their pets through the doors, and I think it just shows that we really want to be a part of the community here. We’re super open and we love to be involved.”
The clinic says the event gave staff a chance to connect with pet owners outside of regular appointments.
The Animal Medical Center plans to continue hosting community-focused events in the future.
