MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Marquette Symphony Orchestra will be performing two Christmas shows this weekend, one of which is already sold out.
The “Sounds of the Holiday” lineup will feature popular pieces such as Pas de Deux, Oh, Come All Ye Faithful, Gloria, Hallelujah, and more.
The weekend is sponsored by the U.P. Health System, and will welcome hospital staff as guest conductors on stage for each show.
MSO Director Octavio Más-Arocas says both performances will also include narrations through ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, performances the NMU Arts Chorale and University Choir, special guest vocalists, and plenty of fun ways the crowd can get involved.
“When you think of the holidays you think of this music,” he said. “It’s going to be very interactive, we’ll ask the audience to sing and to do some other things, there are a lot of surprises.”
So far, the Saturday evening show has sold out. Tickets are still available for a shortened family-friendly matinee show on Sunday, December 14, at 2 p.m. in Kaufman Auditorium. Tickets start at $20 for the general public, $13 for students, and children under six are free.
