WASHINGTON, D.C. – European leaders sent a revised Ukraine-Russia peace proposal to the US. Ukraine is standing firm on one commitment in the plan: security guarantees for Ukraine.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared he had a meeting with European leaders on Thursday. Zelenskyy said they are working on security guarantees from their European partners and adds it’s important the United States is with Ukraine and supports these efforts.
On Wednesday, President Trump had a phone call with European leaders on the proposed peace plan for Ukraine. European leaders did not reveal the contents of the proposal but they added the main issue is “what territorial concessions Ukraine is prepared to make.” Ukraine’s President has repeatedly stated they do not want to give up any territory.
