ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Antique Village at the U.P. State Fairgrounds is getting into the holiday spirit this weekend.
Christmas in the Village kicked off on Friday and continues Saturday, December 6, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Guests can explore the U.P. Steam & Gas Engine Museum, the blacksmith’s workshop, the Cook Shack, and other businesses that will take them back in time.
Several local schools visited the Antique Village on Friday. One of the most popular attractions among students was the Upper Michigan Central Model Railroad Club station, which features miniature trains rolling through familiar Delta County scenes.
“The kids like it because it’s a visual,” said Railroad Club member Jim Jankowski. “They’re walking around and things are moving. It’s something that everyone likes to look at, be involved in. Me, I’m always a kid at heart. I try to be. You’re only as old as you think you are, or as young.”
Christmas in the Village is free to attend, but donations of food, clothing, and toys are encouraged. For more information, click here.
