ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Escanaba Public Safety is investigating a fire that occurred early Wednesday morning.
At 3:55 a.m., the department was dispatched to a house fire on 1st Avenue South. When officers arrived on scene, heavy fire was engulfing the back of the house. Officers quickly deployed attack lines to prevent it from spreading to the front of the house. Officers worked swiftly to extinguish the fire that had consumed the basement and main level. They were on scene for approximately two and a half hours.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by the Delta County Central Dispatch Center, the Delta County Sheriff’s Department, and Rampart EMS.
