32 carries, 406 yards, four touchdowns vs. Wayne State
MARQUETTE, Mich. – D2Football.com has announced the National Players of the Week, with Northern Michigan running back Noah Dobert receiving offensive honors. It is the first time a Wildcat has been recognized by D2Football.com on the national level.
After delivering one of the most explosive rushing performances in Division II history, Dobert was recognized as the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week and is now being honored nationally.
Dobert ran wild for 406 yards and four touchdowns on 32 carries in Northern Michigan’s 45-11 victory over Wayne State, shattering the Wildcats’ single-game rushing record of 317 yards set by Mark Bossuah in 2007. His total is the highest in Division II this season and stands among the top five all-time at the Division II level. The breakout effort also propelled Dobert to new NMU single-season records in both rushing yards (1,656) and rushing touchdowns (15), surpassing marks previously held by All-American Jake Mayon.
Dobert finished his freshman campaign ranked:
– 3rd in NCAA Division II in rushing yards (1,656)
– 3rd in rushing yards per game (150.5)
– 263 attempts | 6.3 yards per carry | 15 touchdowns
He scored on runs of 56, 52, 64, and 72 yards and averaged 12.7 yards per attempt, ending the day just 19 yards shy of the Division II single-game record. His dominance also helped the Wildcats set a new team rushing record with 3,123 yards, eclipsing the previous benchmark of 2,660 set in 2018.
