North Dickinson leads voting for All Great Lakes 8 Football

ESCANABA — The Felch North Dickinson Nordics completed an undefeated regular season and captured the Great Lakes Central Conference eight-player football title in the process.

Their success was reflected in voting for all-conference honors in the annual meeting of the league’s coaches.

Nordics’ quarterback Brady Jungwirth was selected Offensive Player of the Year and Jason Graham earned Defensive Player of the Year honors.

The Nordics were also named Team of the Year with coach Mike Christian tabbed as Coach of the Year.

Graham was also picked for the first team on offense as a running back.

Brimley’s Cooper Jones was tabbed as the first team QB and Stephenson’s Dalton Berg also selected at running back.

North Dickinson’s Then Cramer and Brimley’s Gus Vonseggen landed berths at wide receiver with North Dickinson’s Richard Haney as the league’s center.

All-conference offensive linemen are North Dickinson’s Andrew Larson and Rapid River’s Alex Shiverdecker.

Also representing Rapid River on the first team is Joseph Thorbahn as hybrid.

Rapid River’s Lane Olson was selected as the second-team QB.

Selections at running back are North Dickinson’s Tyler Fleming and Stephenson’s Lucas Havelka.

Brimley’s Terin Forrester and Rapid River’s Jared Huskey were selected at wide receiver.

Stephenson’s Nolan Strahl is listed as the second team center with Brimley’s Micah Morrison and North Dickinson’s Nathan Conery getting the nod as offensive linemen.

On defense, Havelka and Brimley’s Evan Evitts received first team honors as linebackers.

First-team linemen include Rapid River’s Greg Taylor, North Dickinson’s Ty King and Stephenson’s Brock Bergquist with Jones, Fleming and Olson picked as defensive backs.

North Dickinson’s Colton Roberts gained honors as the league’s hybrid.

Brimley’s Brady LeBlanc is this year’s punter with Taylor selected as kicker and Stephenson’s Gavin Anderson picked as return specialist.

Second-team selections include Brimley’s Derrick Carrick and Rapid River’s Rowan Flath at linebacker, Brimley’s Andrew Vernier, North Dickinson’s Sam Depotie and Shiverdecker as linemen and Vonseggren, North Dickinson’s Toby Fleming and Rapid River’s Hayden Kee in the backfield.
