MENOMINEE — The cream of the West-PAC Copper Division crop resides in Menominee.
Befitting of an undefeated conference champion, eighteen members of the Menominee High School football team collected All-Conference accolades from the West-PAC Copper Conference, including five of the major awards.
Head coach Chad Brandt was chosen as the West-PAC Copper Coach of the Year. Under Brandt’s tutelage, Menominee won its first West-PAC Copper title with a perfect 7-0 mark in the conference and finished the regular season at an unblemished 9-0.
Quarterback Tanner Theuerkauf was unanimously selected as the West-PAC Copper’s Offensive Player of the Year in addition to receiving unanimous First Team laurels after a stellar regular season.
The senior signal caller completed 63 percent of his passes (51-of-80) for 924 yards, 15 touchdowns and just two interceptions while adding 37 carries for 277 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
Not to be outdone, junior Nathan Nelson took home Defensive Player of the Year honors and was a First Team selection at inside linebacker.
Seven members of the Maroons’ defense received All-Conference recognition after helping Menominee hold its opponents to an average of 12.1 points per game.
Seniors Dawson Bardowski and Landen Daigneau were both First Team choices at defensive back and outside linebacker, respectively, while junior Henry Dobbins received a First Team on the defensive line.
Three more Maroons garnered Second Team acclaim in senior Blake Paasch (outside linebacker), as well as juniors Zander Jurkiewicz (defensive end) and Dylan Beal (defensive back).
Bardowski was also one of 12 Maroons to receive All-Conference designations on the offensive side of the ball.
Bardowski was a unanimous First Team selection at wide receiver after leading Menominee in catches (18) and yards (339) while snaring four touchdowns.
Senior Nathan Komp, Menominee’s all-time leading receiver, snared unanimous First Team honors at tight end after logging 12 receptions for 296 yards and three scores.
Like Bardowski, Clayton Miller was a double-dip First Team choice at both running back and kicker. The senior bulldozer paced Menominee’s ground game with 100 carries for 949 yards and 19 touchdowns while knocking down 28 of his 37 PAT kicks.
Junior Jackson Myszak and senior Maverick Genniesse both earned a spot on the Second Team.
Myszak tallied 31 carries for 269 yards and four touchdowns to receive All-Conference honors at running back, while Geniesse was a Second Team receiver with seven catches for 121 yards and four touchdowns.
Every good offense begins with the offensive line, and all five of Menominee’s blockers pancaked their way to All-West-PAC accolades this season.
Senior center Alex Parrett was a unanimous First Team choice at center, while fellow senior Brennen Swanson was a First Team honoree at guard.
Meanwhile, juniors Kahne Clarke (OT), Ryder Linsmeier (OT) and Jake Russell (OG) all received Honorable Mention.
Senior Ryan Marzian rounded out the Maroons’ All-Conference nods with an Honorable Mention on the defensive line.
