Lindquist to serve as interim coach
NMU football coaches Shane Richardson and Joe Gatz have been placed on administrative leave. Reasons for leave will not be released due to the privacy of personnel matters. William (Billy) Lindquist will serve as interim head coach for the game at Davenport University this Saturday.
NMU defeated Roosevelt 42-21 on October 18, but lost to Michigan Tech (56-17) and Ferris State (70-35) the past two weekends. Richardson’s record at NMU is 1-30. The Wildcats have given up 351 points in nine games, almost 40 points/game.
The Wildcats celebrated their 50th anniversary of the 1975 National Championship on October 11, retiring Steve Mariucci’s jersey #18 that day.
