K.I. SAWYER, Mich. (WZMQ) – Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport (MQT) recently announced an upcoming expansion of flights to and from Chicago next year.
Beginning May 21, 2026, MQT will service United Airlines flights three times daily to and from O’Hare International Airport (ORD), flying a Bombardier CRJ-550 aircraft seating around 50 passengers.
MQT Airport Manager, David Erhart says after searching for additional options for many years, the change will hopefully make connecting flights easier for locals, students, and tourists to access.
“We have seen that level of service to ORD before, but United coming here with three flights a day in addition to American Airline flights really just increases the connectedness of MQT to other airports,” he said. “Hopefully with that competition it’ll reduce fares as well, making it easier to fly in and out of here.”
