Four wins over the weekend
MARQUETTE, Mich. – Standout diver for the NMU women’s swim and dive team, junior Kalia Ceglinski, has been honored with GLIAC Female Diver of the Week after her performances over the weekend.
The Elmhurt, Illinois, native opened the weekend against #14 Findlay and #17 Saginaw Valley on Friday with a win in the 1-meter diving, posting a score of 264.85, followed by a win in the 3-meter, a score of 253.95.
Ceglinski then turned around less than 24 hours later in the pool versus #4 Grand Valley State, where she won both the 1-meter (264.30) and 3-meter (250.73) en route to claiming four gold-medal finishes over the weekend against strong nationally-ranked competition.
The 2024 First-Team All-American in the 3-meter and Second-Team All-American in the 1-meter has now won all eight events she has competed in this season, dating back to the UP showdown to start the season at the beginning of October.
The Wildcats return home two weekends from now, as the team hosts #13 Wayne State on Friday, November 7, and Saturday, November 8, from the PEIF Pool in Marquette.
