ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Friday was homecoming for Escanaba High School, and students celebrated with a parade through the downtown.
The school band led the march down Ludington Street, followed by organizations like the Eskymo Fan Club, Eskymo sports teams, and student clubs.
The high school classes decorated floats in the style of different arcade video games. Because each float had moving parts, students in the class of 2028 said it was a team effort to get everything ready for the parade.
“It’s free class bonding and makes us stronger as a class,” said Bailee Lemire.
“It was really fun to hang out with all your friends,” Aubrey Mylander said. “It’s like the best time of the year.”
“Just having fun with your classmates leading up to the week,” added Matt Caron. “This football game’s going to be sick. Roll Mos!”
Many parade goers wore orange and black to show their school spirit, cheering on the students as they passed by.
