LANSING, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Wednesday, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced that 69-year-old Ward Glass of Marquette was convicted by a Houghton County jury of six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Glass sexually assaulted the victim multiple times when she was a minor between 1993 and 1996, when they resided in the same Houghton County home. The victim filed a complaint with the Michigan State Police in 2024, when she encountered Glass after nearly three decades. Glass was charged by the Department of Attorney General in September 2024.
“Coming forward to report a sexual assault takes extraordinary courage,” Nessel said. “I commend the survivor in this case for her strength and the Michigan State Police and prosecutors in my office for their diligent work in pursuing this case and securing this conviction. My office will continue to stand with survivors and pursue justice, no matter how much time has passed.”
Glass is scheduled to be sentenced on January 6 before the Honorable Brittany A. Bulleit in the 12th Circuit Court in Houghton County.
