Keeping track of Steph Curry three-pointers instead of his own
HOUGHTON, Mich. – Former Michigan Tech men’s basketball player and assistant coach Ben Stelzer has been named head video coordinator for the Golden State Warriors.
Stezler spent the last two seasons with the Santa Cruz Warriors, most recently as an assistant coach with his first season serving as a coaching associate/basketball operations coordinator for the Sea Dubs. Prior to joining the Warriors organization, Stelzer served as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Michigan Tech, his alma mater, for two years. The Manitowoc, Wisconsin, native previously worked for the Dallas Mavericks as a player development intern from 2019-2021.
Stelzer enjoyed a post collegiate basketball career in Spain, playing for Layma Basquet Coruna and led the league in total 3-pointers made, helping his team advance to the playoff semifinals. He began his playing career for the Huskies in 2011, where he was a four-year starter and three-year captain for the Black & Gold.
Stelzer finished as the program’s all-time leader in 3-pointers (363) and shot 44 percent as a senior. He was also named NCAA Division II All-American, Academic All-American, and Midwest Region Player of the Year. Stelzer led the Huskies to three NCAA Tournament appearances and a trip to the NCAA Division II Sweet 16.
