BESSEMER, Mich. (WZMQ) – The 45th annual Pumpkinfest is back this weekend in Bessemer.
Along S Sophie Street, free carnival rides will be open starting Friday at 5 p.m., as well as vendors and live entertainment. Saturday is ‘Family Fun Day,’ featuring various pumpkin themed events and fundraisers, including pumpkin carving, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin geocaching, even a Trunk or Treat.
After 45 years, the festival has grown from just a pumpkin growing contest into a full street lined with fall fun, bringing the surrounding area together.
“Everyone is welcome, we love to showcase our city and what we have to offer here,” said Pumpkinfest Organizer, Donna Frello. “And especially, we like to extend our friendship to people, so come down, enjoy a beautiful autumn celebration with the Pumpkinfest.”
