GRANT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Kentucky man is dead following a motorcycle crash in Grant Township on Monday, September 15.
At approximately 11:59 a.m., the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal single-vehicle motorcycle crash on US-41 near the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge. A 68-year-old male from White Plains, Kentucky, was traveling northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve and collided with a guardrail.
The man, who was riding alone, was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash is currently unknown and remains under active investigation by the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
The Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Copper Harbor Fire & First Responders, Mercy Ambulance, and the Keweenaw County Medical Examiner’s Office.
