MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – With our quick shift into fall, the 16th annual U.P. Fall Beer Festival is ready to welcome enthusiasts from all around the state.
“People in Michigan really like our beers,” said Ore Dock Brewing’s Curated Events Manager, Amanda Courchaine. “It’s a great time to visit Marquette too.”
Hosted by the Michigan Brewers Guild, Mattson Lower Harbor Park will welcome over 75 Michigan breweries, offering a taste of hundreds of new and familiar beverages.
“The popular items this year are probably going to be the darker beers,” said Courchaine. “There’s a lot of Peanut Butter Porters and stuff like that, maybe some one-off batches that you won’t see in the tap rooms, in addition to some local favorites from each of the breweries.”
The annual event is a fun way for breweries and beer lovers to meet one another, all in one unique location.
“This is the only up festival for the Michigan Brewers Guild. I think that people really enjoy the different types of environments in which they can enjoy their beer,” said Courchaine. “When you go downstate to the Detroit Beer Festival, you might be in a parking lot, whereas this one in a park right next to Lake Superior, it’s beautiful.”
The festival will go from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a 12 p.m. start for VIP Enthusiast Members. With the purchase of a ticket, 15 beer tokens will be handed out on arrival, each good for one 3oz pour. Designated Driver tickets will also be available. All presale tickets can be found at mibeer.com.
