MARQUETTE, Mi. (WZMQ) – The Marquette Marathon held its packet pick-up and race expo today at the Superior Dome on Northern Michigan University campus. This race expo is an opportunity to mingle, browse for gear, and collect your packets. Plus, at 6 P.M. is a one mile race for the kids.
Saturday morning is when all the races start. The full marathon and marathon relay start at 7:30 A.M. at the Ishpeming Cliff Shaft Museum. The half-marathon starts at 9 A.M. at the Neguanee Michigan Iron Industry Museum. Finally, the 5K run also starts at 9 A.M at the Superior Dome. All races end at the Superior Dome; most racers are predicted to end around 10:30 A.M. to Noon.
“We encourage the city to come down and check out the race and cheer people on if you’re out on the course, if you have a business on the course, set up a cheer section,” said Kevin Thomsen, Race Official.
